The first TV spot for Batman: Arkham Origins was released Thursday, according to Superherohype.com.
The spot is only 16 seconds long so there isn’t an array of gameplay footage. The video features a fight scene between the Dark Knight and villain Deathstroke. At the end the commercial lets you know that Deathstroke is available if you pre-order now.
There are some fundamental differences between Origins and its two predecessors, “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and “Batman: Arkham City,” according to USAToday.com.
First off, Origins takes place years before the other two games. It is about a younger Batman who is developing as a superhero.
The game is not made by Rocksteady games as the past two were. Instead, it is has been created by Warner Bros’ Montreal studio.
One of the features coming to the game, is an updated form of Detective Mode. For example, according to USAToday.com, in the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) demo Batman arrives at the scene of a police helicopter crash. He is able to scan his environment and known exactly how the event unfolded.
At the scene of the helicopter crash, he notices the aircrafts tell has snapped off, which then takes the gamer on top of a building to get a more effective view. After a player gathers clues from a scene they are given a replay of what happened—the more information you gather using Detective Mode, the more information you are given in the replay.
This is just one upgrade that is coming to the game—let hope it is just the tip of the iceberg.
“Batman: Arkham Origins” can be pre-ordered now on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, PS Vita, and Wii U.
