Many Samsung users have been anticipating the release of the South Korean-based company’s next “phablet,” the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The announcement for the Note 3 could come as early as today according to GeekyGadgets.com.
Samsung is holding a “premiere event” at 2 p.m. EDT today. It will take place in London, England. If the Note 3 launches today, it could hit stores in the United States and Europe as early as July.
According speculation, the AT&T could get a version of the phone specific to the mobile carrier. It will most likely be a 32 GB Galaxy Note 3.
In the U.S. the phone is expected to launch on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile. In Europe the phone is expected to launch on EE, T-Mobile, Three, Orange and Vodafone.
There are some reports that the phone will not launch today, but will launch sometime in the fall during IFA conference which takes place from September 6-11. According to GottaBeMobie, in addition to the rumors about an iFA conference announcement, there are two other reasons you should not expect an announcement today.
Reason number one is a full image of the Note 3 has not been leaked. Usually before a device arrives, full photos of the device leak.
Reason number two is Samsung has not released information about an Unpacked event. Samsung labeled the Galaxy S4’s Unpacked event as Episode 1. The likely candidate for the next episode would be the Galaxy Note 3.
There is no guarantee Samsung will, or will not, launch the Note 3 today. However, it could be good business move if they did, since the Galaxy S4 is doing well.
