The NFL's bruised reputation has mended to a certain extent over the past few months. Issues of domestic violence surrounding stars like Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson are fading into the background and the excitement over the playoffs and the latest impending Super Bowl championship is taking over.

But things may again turn ugly for the NFL, as it was announced today that New Orleans Saints linebacker Junior Galette has been arrested, with at least one report, from Tom Mantzouranis of SINow, stating that it was for suspicion of domestic violence.

Evan Woodbery of The Times-Picayune is reporting that Galette was arrested in Kenner, LA on Monday, and according to Kenner police Lt. Brian McGregor, is being held in custody while they wait to speak to the patrol officer who arrested Galette.

Galette, 26, originally signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of Stillman College in Alabama. The team recently inked him to a four-year extension which carries him through the 2019 season and has $41.5 million in new money.

Galette had 10 sacks for the Saints this past season, just missing out on contract escalators that would have kicked in had he reached 12 sacks.

According to OverTheCap.com, it would cost the Saints $16.2 million in dead money to cut Gallete before June 1.
