Ryan Seacrest will have no one to kiss under the mistletoe this Christmas. The "American Idol" host has called it quits with his girlfriend Shayna Terese Taylor who he started dating over a year ago.

Seacrest, who will turn 40 on Christmas Eve, confirmed his "single" status to Us Weekly at the Z100 Jingle Ball on Dec. 12. He didn't say when the split occurred, but Seacrest was seen leaving the GQ Men of the Year party with a mysterious blonde last week, according to TMZ.

He and Taylor, a model and personal trainer, first went public with their relationship in November 2013 while vacationing in Uruguay. Friends hooked the two up about eight months after Seacrest's two-year relationship with Julianne Hough ended.

"Ryan was looking to date again and [friends] thought he and Shayna would get along great!" a source told Us Weekly at the time.

Single for the holidays, Seacrest plans to unplug and spend time with his family.

"I'm going to take off the whole week of Christmas. I'm not even going to charge my phone," he told Us. "My family and I do a fondue dinner for Christmas Eve and then on Christmas day after presents I try to eat so much that I can't sleep on my stomach that night."

Taylor has posted several quotes on her Instagram acknowledging her post-break up status.

"Never narrow your soul to fit into someone else's. A roaring ocean cannot be held in the hands of a pond," read one quote by D. Antoinette Foy.

Another said, "My only goal in life right now is to be happy. Genuinely, intensely and consistently happy, regardless of what that looks like to others."

Seacrest will celebrate New Year's Eve in New York City hosting "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" on ABC. He started as co-host for the annual event in 2006 and then took over full-time after the passing of Dick Clark in 2012.

Seacrest continues to keep busy into the New Year as "American Idol" returns for season 14 on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
