Katherine Heigl walks onto most movie and television sets with a reputation as a difficult actress. She's trying not to let the rumors and accusations of the past interfere with her promotion for her new NBC series "State of Affairs."

One fan did sneak in a question about those "rude" rumors during a Facebook Q&A with Heigl last week.

"Yeah, I've heard those too... honestly I don't think I am... nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someone's feelings and I would never, ever, actively do so on purpose," she wrote. "Of course just like any human being I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right."

An early mistake of Heigl's came when she starred on the ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy." The actress withdrew her name from Emmy consideration in 2008 because she didn't feel she was "given material [that] season to warrant an Emmy nomination," she told the Los Angeles Times. She won the previous year for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her "Grey's" role.

Heigl eventually departed the series in 2010, but her behavior did set a standard for "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes' new series "Scandal."

"There are no Heigls in this situation... I don't put up with bulls*** or nasty people. I don't have time for it," Rhimes told The Hollywood Reporter in its Oct. 17 issue.

Heigl has expressed interest in returning to "Grey's Anatomy," but Rhimes tweeted in June that "she's probably not coming back." Although the "27 Dresses" star did admit to her mistakes, she insists she never had "rude or unkind intentions" behind her behavior.

"That doesn't mean I won't stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honestly I think every one of us is entitled to," she said during the Facebook Q&A.

"State of Affairs" will premiere on Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
