Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson could be starting his own airline.
The heavy metal frontman, who has been a charter pilot for more than 20 years, invested in Cardiff Aviation, according to MSN.
"Subject to approvals, we'll be in the air within the next 50 days," Dickinson told MSN.
Legendary English rock band Iron Maiden also released a new beer in April called Trooper Ale, MSN said. In May, fans had already ordered 300,000 pints, and outlets from 100 countries had requested to sell the brew, according to MSN.
And why not try something else different?
Iron Maiden, thought to be one of the most successful metal bands of all time, has sold 85 million records worldwide. During the band's 2008 tour, the band commissioned a private jet that Dickinson flew for their tour. The plane, "Ed Force One" was a Boeing 757 and got the band around for their "Somewhere Back in Time" world tour. The band flew their own aircraft again in 2011 for their "Final Frontier" world tour, featuring album artwork from "Final Frontier" on the side of the plane. Dickinson also started a fencing equipment company called "Duellist."
Formed in 1975, the band has released 15 studio albums and 11 live albums. Dickinson, the lead singer for the group, departed from the band for a short stint in the '90s to embark on a solo career but returned in 1999. The band, who rose to initial success in the '80s, won a Grammy Award in 2011 for Best Metal Performance for "El Dorado."
