New Gmail Inbox Update: New Categories and Tabs Added

Due to multiple criticisms and complaints received after the teaser was released, the Gmail developer made another update on the Gmail inbox to made it more touch screen friendly.

The new Gmail inbox was first released last Wednesday which featured its new design and new labels. This update was also visible for iOS and Android compatible devices. What used to look like a boring line of tabs have been redesigned and made it more obvious by making them appear like large tabs. The default categories are the Primary, Social, Promotions, Forums, and Updates. The large tabs are very convenient for those using touch screen devices.

Users can now drag each category and teach Google to remember their preferred filters. Google has finally transformed their layout to look like a 'card'. All changes and updates made are all customized to fit the expectations of touch screen users who would like to have convenience in managing and reorganizing their emails.

For those who wouldn't like the layout of the new mailbox, they can easily revert to the old settings if they wish.

When it was first released, the developer said that it will be available in the next few weeks. Now, users will not have to wait weeks because it is coming soon. The developer is just waiting for the approval from Apple regarding the iOS compatibility. Once approved, users should see the new app in the Play Store for Android devices and Apple Store for the iOS models.

The changes made on the Gmail are another move for Google to take control of the email service. However, the update seems not enough if they would like to overthrow Microsoft's Office Outlook which is still the preferred email service in offices and businesses because of its calendara and tasks lister.
