Comedian and actor Robin Williams has checked into a Minnesota rehab facility to help him maintain sobriety. The actor's rep confirmed the news to TMZ, saying that Williams has been extremely busy lately filming movies and needs to take some time out to focus on his health.

"After working back-to-back projects, Robin is simply taking the opportunity to fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud," his rep told the site.

Reportedly, Williams checked into the Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Lindstrom, Minn. and will be staying at a part of the facility called The Lodge. According to the rehab center's website, the program "immerses you in the Twelve Step design for living that can inform and transform every aspect of your life."

TMZ reports that the 62-year-old will remain in rehab for several weeks. On Sunday, June 29 Williams was spotted at a Dairy Queen nearby the facility. The "The Crazy Ones" star has never been shy about discussing his past struggles with addiction.

According to TMZ, the comedian quit cocaine and alcohol cold turkey in the 1980s and remained sober for 20 years. In 2005, he fell off the wagon and relapsed while filming "The Big White" and, under his family's urging, checked into rehab.

At the time, Williams' rep said, "After 20 years of sobriety, Robin Williams found himself drinking again and has decided to take proactive measures to deal with this for his own well-being and the well-being of his family."

Since then, Williams has maintained his sobriety. The actor is currently married to Susan Schneider and has two kids - Zelda Rae, 24, and Cody Alan, 21 - from a previous marriage to Marsha Garces. Williams and his wife were recently spotted in West Hollywood in February.
