Trade talks between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly are on hold.  While the trade discussions for Timberwolves star Kevin Love may be at a standstill, ESPN's Chad Ford indicated dealing Warriors guard Klay Thompson is once again an option.

Although Golden State still appears to be the top contender to acquire Love, the trade talks reportedly are in a "holding pattern."

"The update is that there isn't much to update in the Warriors' chase/inquiry/bid for Kevin Love, though things could change in a blink," Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News wrote on Monday.  "Right now, however, nobody seems to be blinking with a few days to go before Thursday's NBA draft.

"On Monday afternoon, I checked with two high-level NBA sources, and both said that trade talks between the Warriors and Minnesota remain in a holding pattern."

In line with the back-and-forth reports of Thompson alternating between being on and off the table, the latest news indicates the shooting guard isn't the holdup; Thompson is indeed part of the proposed deal, per Ford, but the holdup is over the smaller details of the trade.

Ford seemed to indicate during an interview with Grantland's Bill Simmons on Tuesday that the Thompson and David Lee package for Love was in place but other, likely smaller details, such as who would be shipped with Love, were still up in the air.

Timberwolves president and coach Flip Saunders would get the maximum value for Love by trading him on or before Thursday's draft.

The Boston Celtics also reportedly are eying Love and have enough tradable assets to make the deal worthwhile for Minnesota.
