Bid for Lunch Date With Apple CEO Tim Cook Closes at $330,001

The bid to have a one-hour lunch date with Apple CEO Tim Cook ended at a whopping $330,001 on Tuesday.

The auction entitles the winning bidder to meet him at the company's Cupertino headquarters on a "mutually agreed upon date."

The Charitybuzz auction marks Cook's second sell-off event. Bids were a bit more modest compared to last year's coffee charity meeting, which closed at the bid amount of $610,000.

According to MacRumors, though the winning bid includes the cost of the meal, it doesn't cover travel and lodging expenses, which will be shouldered by the auction winner. On May 10, the winner got even luckier when Tim Cook "upgraded" the package with a VIP guest spot. The move, which was announced on Twitter, will give the winner the unique chance to attend one of Apple's highly anticipated events.

The lucky recipient will be allowed to bring one guest to the meeting. A security screening will be preformed prior to meeting Cook. Choosing a calendar date for the meeting might take up to a year, and will depend on Cook's availability, Apple Insider reported.

Proceeds from the auction will be awarded to the Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Center for Justice & Human Rights. The charity aims to collaborate with leaders of human rights and educate the public on social justice, bringing corporate responsibility to new heights.
