Audible has struck a deal with Apple Podcasts that brings a connected subscription experience to subscribers, which will allow them to stream their shows directly on the iOS platforms.
What this means is that users could get to access their favorite shows and content directly on the Apple Podcasts platform and get to enjoy its different features and capabilities on devices.
Audible Shows Can Now Be Streamed on Apple Podcasts
Audible shared in its latest announcement that it is now launching a new streaming experience for the platform as it is expanding to Apple Podcasts and giving more users access to its shows.
This means listeners across 135 countries can now get access to Audible's content, which features over 700 premium podcast titles available on the Apple Podcasts app. The company shared that users get a chance to stream ad-free Audible Originals and more content on the Apple Podcasts.
"By bringing Audible's distinctive catalog to Apple Podcasts, we're allowing members to find their favorite Originals where many of them already listen to their podcasts," said Marshall Lewy, Head of Audible Content for North America.
There are also select shows that the company is making available widely to users on Apple Podcasts, according to Lewy.
Audible Connected Subscription on Apple Podcasts
The main focus of this integration is the launch of Audible's "connected subscription" on Apple Podcasts, which means that users no longer need to worry about getting a new premium membership should they wish to stream the content.
For existing subscribers, logging in to their Audible account on the standalone app should automatically connect their subscription to the Apple Podcasts platform and allow them to access the shows available under their accounts.
Moreover, Audible also said that they may link their existing accounts to unlock premium podcast access on Apple Podcasts with no additional cost.
New users need to create an account by going to the Apple Podcasts app, selecting an Audible premium show, and choosing "subscribe" before being taken to a separate sign-up page. Subscribing to Audible Premium gives them access to both Audible's platform and the Apple Podcasts app.
