Chris Brown and Rihanna are doing their own thing, Brown told an Australian radio show.
The on-again, off-again R&B super couple were spotted just a week ago together, but now Brown says they are not currently dating.
"Yeah, I'm a do it solo. I mean, at the end of the day, Shawty doing her own thang, she on the road. It's always gonna be love ... I'm just gonna do me. I'm a grown man, just gotta fast forward," he told Aussie radio hosts.
Brown made references to a split with the "Love the Way You Lie" and "Stay" singer last month, but the status of their relationship has been unclear until his recent confirmation.
Brown unfollowed Rihanna on Twitter last week following pictures of her kissing a fan. Brown, who turned 24 Sunday, celebrated his birthday in Las Vegas. While he said he has nothing but love for Rihanna, he admitted he needs to focus on other things.
"I'm always gonna love that person," he said. "I cant be focused on wife-ing someone that young. I need to be the best Chris Brown I can be."
Brown was arrested in 2009 after Rihanna's allegations of physical abuse. The couple's story of turmoil and forgiveness inspired an episode of Law and Order SVU in February. Rihanna continued her Diamonds tour in New York City on Brown's birthday while he partied in Vegas with guests. Ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran was amongst party attendees, according to New York Daily News.
