Protesters are seen inside a Columbia University Building as NYPD officer broke through barricades.

The NYPD has released a video from a body-worn camera on officer who breached a Columbia University building that had been taken over by pro-Palestinian protesters.

The video shows officers moving a group of protesters who were singing in front of the video and then removing tables and trash cans that had been zip-tied together to block the doors to the building.

An officer then used an electric saw to cut through a chain looped through the door and then the officer broke through the door.

More chairs and tables were set up as another barricade just inside the building.

The process was repeated at an interior door where protesters had broken windows to chain lock the doors shut.

Protesters inside the building screamed pro-Palestine chants as police broke through. The group was wearing masks and hoods.  Some were wearing goggles.

On Tuesday night, hundreds of NYPD officers in riot gear rushed the Columbia University campus to remove the anti-Israel protestors from Hamilton Hall, which they had illegally taken over roughly 12 hours earlier.

The NYPD entered the campus at the request of university President Minouche Shafik, who asked that law enforcement remain until May 17 - two days after the university's scheduled commencement date.

Protestors, some of whom are not Columbia students, allegedly sneaked into Hamilton Hall after hours and took control of the building.
