A specialized weight loss program from Costco allows members to have access to GLP-1 drugs, including the wildly popular Ozempic weight loss drug.

The partnership was launched by Costco and Sesame back in September and on Tuesday they announced it will be expanding to include health care for weight loss with pricing exclusive to Costco members.

Members will receive three months of weight loss consultations from a clinician of their choice, with the added ability to message their clinician outside of scheduled appointments, for the low price of $179.00 per month.

The patients will be able to get assistance with exercise, lifestyle, and diet. Treatment with medications is also available when appropriate.

"We are witnessing important innovations in medically-supervised weight loss," David Goldhill, Sesame's co-founder and CEO, said in a statement.

"Sesame's unique model allows us not only to make high-quality specialty care like weight loss much more accessible and affordable, but also to empower clinicians to create care plans that are specific to - and appropriate for - each individual patient."

Members are able to receive healthcare services as well, including virtual primary care starting at $29 for Costco members, health checkups including lab work for $72, and virtual mental health therapy for $79.

Sesame's goal is to assist uninsured Americans and those with high deductible places with greater access to affordable healthcare.

It has a network of primary care doctors and nurse practitioners in more than 40 health specialties, along with labs and imaging centers, and includes both virtual and in-person care. Sesame does not accept insurance to help keep prices down for those who pay cash.

Costco members can access the new weight loss service at CostcoWeightLoss.com.
