The Tennessee Alcohol and Beverage Commission has launched an investigation into the Nashville bar to determine whether it overserved a University of Missouri student who disappeared last week after leaving the saloon, according to a report.

Riley Strain, 22, was visiting Nashville with friends from his fraternity when he got kicked out of Bryan's Luke's 32 Bridge Bar last Friday night.

He told friends that he planned to go back to their hotel, but he never arrived.

Aaron Rummage, the director of legislation, policy and communication at the state agency, told The Tennessean that the investigation will look into whether the bar violated any policies.

Rummage declined to provide additional details or what prompted the probe.

The restaurant group that owns and operates Bryan's Luke's 32 Bridge said they were cooperating with the Metro Nashville Police Department to turn over security camera footage, the outlet reported.

Police believed that the 6-foot-5 Strain, who was spotted on surveillance video stumbling along the streets, may have fallen into the river or on the riverbank, The Tennessean reported.

The city's office of emergency management used two boats with sonar equipment to search parts of the Cumberland River this week for Strain. But the search did not find anything.
