According to USA Today's latest report, Buffett died because of skin cancer. For the past four years, the music and lifestyle icon has been battling the Merkel skin cancer.

The National Cancer Institute describes this cancer as a rare carcinoma, saying it commonly appears as a single, painless lump on the affected skin.

After that, it will metastasize quickly. The Merkel cell skin cancer is considered 2nd to melanoma as the most common cause of skin cancer-related deaths.

Despite his medical condition, Jimmy kept performing. His last performance was a Mac McAnally show, which happened on July 2 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

When Buffett died, he was surrounded by his family, friends, as well as his beloved dogs. Thanks to their presence, the music icon passed away peacefully.

"He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many," said his official website.
