US singer-songwriter Taylor Swift performs onstage on the first night of her "Eras Tour" at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on March 31, 2023.

Taylor Swift announced an additional 38 shows across 15 countries for the international leg of her Eras tour in 2024. This announcement was received by Swifties positively as stricter international ticketing regulations could prevent the markups, which led to some US-based fans paying thousands of dollars for resold tickets.

The original prices for Swift's US show range from $49 to $499 (plus fees), but many of the tickets were ultimately purchased and resold at exorbitant prices as high as over $35,000 for her Atlanta show.

As a result, US President Joe Biden announced that Live Nation and Ticketmaster, two of the largest ticketing companies in the country, have committed to providing their customers with the option to view the total price of tickets before making a purchase.

Eras Tour Prefers Cities with Strict Ticket Regulations

Tickets for Swift's 2024 leg have not yet been released. Still, massive price increases on the secondary market were impossible in many countries she would visit because of ticketing regulations.

This meant she would miss several countries with massive populations of Swifties because of a lack of ticketing regulations. Her Asian tour, for example, is limited only to Tokyo and Singapore.

On the other hand, the European Union approved the Digital Services Act, requiring ticket resellers to provide proof of identification and contact information. It also mandated third-party sellers on resale sites to disclose themselves to reduce manipulative ticket resale practices. As a result, Poland, Italy, Ireland, and France have banned for-profit ticket resales, minimizing the chances of excessive ticket prices.

Meanwhile, Australia will host five shows overall, three in Sydney and two in Melbourne. Resale laws state that tickets cannot be resold for more than 10% above the original cost.

Swift would end her Eras tour at London's Wembley Stadium on August 17, 2024.
