John Goodman has a "righteous" physique. On Sunday, in conjunction with the premiere of the third season of his hit HBO series 'The Righteous Gemstones,' the 70-year-old actor flaunted his weight loss on the red carpet of the 62nd Monte-Carlo Television Festival.
Goodman began his fitness journey in 2007 when he was at one of his heaviest weights; since then, he has lost more than 200 pounds.

Goodman, who once weighed 392 pounds, appeared fit as he walked the red carpet at the festival where he served as the jury president. He displayed his remarkable physique in a tailored suit jacket, beige pants, and a yellow tie.
Per NY Post, Goodman's weight loss journey began in 2007 when he quit drinking, but his personal trainer Mackie Shilstone assisted him in going even further.
The 'Roseanne' star was introduced to a "Mediterranean-style eating plan" that emphasizes quality sourcing and filling your plate with nutrient-rich whole foods and grains, with an emphasis on fresh produce; lean protein, such as fish and chicken; and, of course, anti-oxidant-rich olive oil.
In addition, he exercises six days per week, taking between 10,000 and 12,000 steps per day on an elliptical bicycle and a treadmill. The actor has always been candid about his passion for food and the ups and downs he's encountered.
Goodman told People magazine in 2010: "It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your arse and figure out what you're going to eat next. I desired to live a better life."
In 2016, he shared some of his habits with ABC, saying, "I'd grab a handful of food and immediately put it in my mouth. I was only eating constantly. I was just drunkenly eating."

Goodman's Battle With Alcoholism
In 2007, the 70-year-old Flintstones actor vowed to completely transform his life and adopt a healthy lifestyle, and it appears he's been sticking to his word.
Many were surprised by John Goodman's initial weight loss, as they were accustomed to seeing him in films such as 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' and 'The Big Lebowski.'
Goodman has also been open about his battle with alcoholism; in 2007, he achieved recovery after 30 years of battling the addiction.
Regarding his reasoning, he stated, "I just got tired, sick and tired of looking at myself. You're shaving in the mirror and you don't want to look at yourself. It gets dangerous."
