Aaron Carter Cause of Death Revealed; Ex-Fiance Disputes Ruling

The cause of death for Aaron Carter has been determined. According to an autopsy report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-office, Coroner's the pop star drowned in a bathtub at his home due to gas and drug effects.

Difluoroethane, a gas often used as a propellant in air spray cleaners for electronic gadgets, and alprazolam, a medicine used to treat anxiety symptoms, were identified in Carter's system.

Aaron Carter Accidentally Drowned

Aaron Carter, 34, was discovered in water and unconscious in a bathtub at his home on November 5 and confirmed dead at the scene. Difluoroethane is renowned for its "cardiotoxic effects, which can lead to cardiac arrhythmias and abrupt cardiac arrest."

Meanwhile, alprazolam has "depressant effects on the central nervous system, which can produce sleepiness and sedation."

According to the medical examiner, Carter died due to an accident. According to the investigation, "Mr. Carter became immobilized while in the bathtub owing to the effects of breathing compressed gas and consuming alprazolam."

USA Today said Carter's autopsy was completed the day following his death, but the results were withheld for toxicology tests, which can take months. Aaron Carter, the younger brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, opened for Britney Spears and his brother's boy band. He starred in the family's reality show "House of Carters," which aired on E! Entertainment Television.

Deputies were called to Aaron Carter's residence in Lancaster, California, at 11 a.m. on November 5 after receiving reports of a medical emergency. Police stated that a house caretaker discovered a guy in the home's bathtub and that resuscitation efforts were futile.

Carter's death prompted a flood of condolences from celebrities, including 'Lizzie McGuire' actress Hilary Duff, 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' actress Melissa Joan Hart, and music artist and actor Tyler Hilton.

Nick Carter remarked in a tribute, "My heart is crushed. Although my rocky connection with my brother, my affection for him has never diminished."

Per CBS News, he concluded his message by expressing his hope that his younger brother may now enjoy the "peace you could never find here on Earth."

Angel, Carter's twin sister, posted many childhood images on Instagram with the caption, "I know you're at peace now." I shall take you with me until I die and am reunited with you."

Carter had spoken openly about his ongoing battles with substance misuse and mental illness. In the early 2000s, the singer was noted for multiple singles, including ' Want Candy' and 'That's How I Beat Shaq' He traveled with the Backstreet Boys and appeared in various films and television shows.

Aaron Carter's Ex-Fiancé Reacts

Melanie Martin, his ex-fiancé and child's mother, told TMZ Tuesday, "The autopsy results are not closure for me. It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub, which doesn't make sense; why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?"

Martin earlier indicated that she thought Carter had been murdered. On November 16, his death certificate was made public, revealing that he had been cremated less than a week after his death. An autopsy was done, but his cause of death was postponed pending the results of a toxicology study.

In the late 1990s, he toured with his elder brother, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter. 'Aaron's Party (Come Get It),' Aaron Carter's second album, sold over 3 million copies, making it his most successful record. It included the single 'I Want Candy.' 'LV,' his fifth studio album, was released in 2018. According to ABC News, Carter has also been on Broadway in 'Seussical' and on 'Dancing With the Stars.'

In November 2021, he and Martin had their first child, a boy called Prince. Aaron Carter had entered into a month-long rehabilitation outpatient program after losing custody of his kid.
