Gov. Ron DeSantis was confronted with a potential class-action lawsuit, alleging that migrants from Venezuela were enticed by false promises to travel from Texas to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.

Even though Delaware officials worried they might be the latest to be startled by Florida's very contentious technique of transporting migrants unexpectedly to liberal regions, a plane supposedly carrying asylum seekers from Texas to Delaware hasn't materialized yet.

The day was spent getting ready for a surprise delivery close to President Biden's beach house in Rehoboth Beach by Delaware authorities and the White House. Flight tracking agencies indicate that the aircraft only made it as far as New Jersey.

Migrants File Lawsuit Against DeSantis

At a gathering on Tuesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis claimed he cannot confirm the flight from Delaware but criticized President Joe Biden for creating a crisis at the border. Nevertheless, humanitarian aid was ready from government agencies and neighborhood organizations.

A group of 48 migrants, largely from Venezuela, that the state of Florida flew to Martha's Vineyard unexpectedly last week. Local officials and the governor of California have asked for a criminal investigation against the Florida governor for the flights, which purportedly used bogus assurances of aid in official-appearing ways to persuade the migrants to board them.

In response to what they refer to as the president's open border policy, Governor DeSantis, his advisors, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott have defended sending migrants to Democratic-leaning states and cities, as per Independent.

Additionally, the migrants assert that those involved in DeSantis' plot prowled around an immigration shelter in San Antonio, Texas, in Bexar County, pretending to be good Samaritans and giving humanitarian assistance. They allegedly provided $10 McDonald's gift cards as a means of gaining trust.

After that, the DeSantis administration spent $615, 000 on two privately chartered aircraft, or $12,300 each person, to fly migrants to Martha's Vineyard. The defendants claim the DeSantis administration told them they were flying to Boston or Washington, DC.

The migrants are asking for compensatory, emotional distress, and punitive damages as well as for DeSantis to be barred from inducing immigrants to travel across state lines by fraud and misrepresentation. DeSantis retaliated earlier on Tuesday after New York Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries referred to him as a human trafficker because of the prank, according to Daily Mail.

DeSantis Slams Migrants' Lawsuit

DeSantis criticized the complaint filed against him by Venezuelan migrants who claimed they were misled before boarding planes to Martha's Vineyard and questioned its provenance. DeSantis has defended his decision to transport the Venezuelans to the remote island, telling The Post in a statement that the Tuesday lawsuit was nothing more than political theater staged by opportunistic activists.

He said that they flew there voluntarily and that they were in bad shape when they arrived in Florida. Democrats have reiterated the allegations that the migrants were deceived, and many have called for federal officials to look into the matter further.

Whether the migrants who boarded the aircraft were the victims of a crime is the subject of an investigation launched on Tuesday by the sheriff of Bexar County, Texas, which includes San Antonio.

DeSantis has criticized his detractors for their hypocrisy in being angrier over him taking a few migrants to Martha's Vineyard than when border crossers perish in dreadful circumstances, New York Post reported.
