Skype has updated its chat services to fix technical problems to improve user experience.
Skype is an application proven very useful when reaching out or getting in touch with people around the globe. It is also very easy to use and compatible with a lot of devices, so users install it on their laptops, smartphones, and tablets. However, one of the problems encountered by users when using one Skype account in different devices is keeping it synced with the others.
One good example would be the received messages. Even if a user has already read it in his smartphone, it will still be marked as "unread" in his laptop.
To resolve the issue and to continuously improve the functionality, reliability, and scalability of Skype for everyday use, the instant messaging and freemium voice-over-IP service underwent some technical improvements. These improvements include enhanced peer-to-peer capabilities in mobiles, improved chat, better registration and account security, and added new features
According to Skype's blog post, with the newly-enhanced Skype chat, which users can experience upon updating their installed Skype applications, activities in one device will be kept synced across all of the user's Skype-enabled devices. Push notification feature was also added to keep a user informed of a new message.
Other changes include an optimized mobile performance like improved battery life and startup times. The application also runs faster than before letting users chat all day without worrying about getting low battery.
All the improvements will also be applied to Skype's group chat experience in the next few months, as well. That means any user can get the same reliable experience even when talking with several people.
The Skype team responsible for deploying such improvements is continuously working hard so users can expect that in a few months time, their Skype chat experience will be incredibly better.
