An inspiring video of former NBA player Delonte West playing basketball recently surfaced on social media, with West in the gym honing his shooting technique.

According to ESPN, Delonte West now works at Florida's Rebound recovery center, where Cuban brought him for treatment back in September.

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, West was an NBA journeyman, finishing his career with the Dallas Mavericks in 2012. Sadly, once his career ended, he became infamous for his personal troubles, which included illegally carrying a weapon, public altercations, and eventually homelessness, per Esquire.

After photographs of West asking for money on social media went viral, Mark Cuban picked him up at a gas station and offered to finance his recovery process.

Months later, it is comforting to realize that West has found work and is in good hands. It's been almost a decade since West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and it's been a difficult path for him.

Road to Recovery

Let us take a look back on the challenges that the former NBA star had overcome per WUSA9:

After the publication of a horrific video showing the ex-NBA player being pummeled in the streets of Prince George's County and then reacting nearly incoherently to police, Delonte West's former coach Phil Martelli and fellow players reach out to offer assistance.

West's former teammate Damien Wilkins told WUSA9 that he was attempting to work with the NBA Player's Association to assist his friend with his bipolar disease issues.

After a video of West in Dallas, Texas, surfaced showing him holding a sign asking for money on the side of a downtown street, many assumed he was homeless. Doc Rivers, a renowned NBA coach, also told the media that he is working to help West.

Mark Cuban reached out to Delonte after seeing a viral photo of him and eventually picked him up off the street to assist him. Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, a team for which West played during his career, offers to fund West's rehabilitation.

According to CBS Boston, Delonte West has started working at the recovery center. This announcement comes about a year after the initial video of him being beaten in Prince George's County was publicly disclosed.

Big3 Comeback

According to TMZ Sports, the 38-year-old is preparing for a comeback in basketball, with ambitions of playing in Ice Cube's BIG3 league. West has been practicing at the Pat The Roc Basketball Academy in Maryland for the past month, according to a source.

West has "been speaking to the kids at the academy and handing out hoops tips," as per the TMZ report.

Given this great information on Delonte West now, basketball fans hope his road to recovery will persist, and everyone is excited to see him play on the hard court again.
