Rand Paul Joins Snapchat

U.S Kentucky Senator Randal Paul gets "in" by joining Snapchat.

Paul, who caught national attention for his political speeches made in behalf of his father former Texas Rep. Ron Paul, has joined the popular disappearing photo & video -sharing app on Wednesday.

Snapchat is an app that delivers a photo or video and deletes it 10 seconds after the recipient has viewed it.

In a Facebook post, Paul stated, "I joined @Snapchat for daily updates & behind-the-scenes footage follow: senatorrandpaul on the photo sharing app. I'm sending my first snap tonight."

In his very first video snap, he said "Hey guys, thanks for following me on Snapchat. I look forward to seeing you real soon."

Later in the afternoon of that same day, Paul sent out a second snap; but this time it took a jab at the National Security Agency.

"HEY NSA, CHECK THIS OUT! YOU'VE BEEN 'MOONED'... BUT IT'S DISSAPEARING ... BETTER GET A SCREEN SHOT FAST," he said.

Paul said in an interview NowThis News Politics that he signed up with Snapchat because he wanted "to communicate with people and not leave a trace for" the NSA.

The 51-year old senator strongly expressed opposition against the security agency's programs.

Earlier this month, Paul's office announced he was filing a class-action lawsuit, along with hundreds of thousands of Americans, against the Federal Administration over the warrantless surveying the PRISM program allowed the NSA to use, Breitbart News reported.

He said in courier-journal.com, "The question here is whether or not, constitutionally, you can have a single warrant apply to millions of people. So we thought, what better way to illustrate the point than having hundreds of thousands of Americans sign up for a class action suit."

Paul has been using different social networking site to reach out to his supporters. He has more than 1.6 million friends in Facebook and about 400,000 followers in Twitter.
