An aggressive, swear-filled, email from a sorority member to her sisters has gone viral, according to the New York Daily News.
The email from the University of Maryland student has already drawn parodies, responses and even a dramatic reading by actor Michael Shannon.
The email contains 41 f-bombs and berates Delta Gamma sisters for being “BORING” AND “AWKWARD” throughout Greek Week.
“If you just opened this like I told you to, tie yourself down to whatever chair you're sitting in, because this email is going to be a rough f------ ride,” the email starts out. "‘Ohhh, I'm now crying because your email has made me oh so so sad,’” the continued.
“Well good. If this email applies to you in any way, meaning if you are a little asswipe that stands in the corners at night or if you're a weird s--- that does weird s--- during the day, this following message is for you: DO NOT GO TO TONIGHT'S EVENT.”
The many parodies, which have traveled all across the Internet, include an imitation by a “deranged Barbie” and a reading by Shannon.
Shannon, who stars on the hit HBO show “Boardwalk Empire,” screams all the words in capital letters as he reads the the letter on the show "Funny or Die."
NOTE: Contains expletive language
“Newsflash you stupid c----: FRATS DON'T LIKE BORING SORORITIES. Oh wait, DOUBLE F------ NEWSFLASH: SIGMA NU IS NOT GOING TO WANT TO HANG OUT WITH US IF WE F------ SUCK, which by the way in case you're an idiot and need it spelled out for you, WE F------ SUCK SO FAR,” the email read.
The sorority’s national chapter released a statement on the issue which says “this letter in no way reflects the values of Delta Gamma as an international fraternity or our chapter at the University of Maryland.”
“The processes by which Delta Gamma handles member discipline are confidential, but we have a team of women working with the chapter to take all appropriate action including protecting, educating and supporting the chapter members in the aftermath of this event,” the statement continues.
The author of the email was not available for comment and most of her social networking accounts were deleted.
According to ABC News, UMD has not decided whether the student will be disciplined. The director of Greek life at the university says the situation is “a teachable moment.”
The author ended the 855-word with an extremely sarcastic “apology."
“And for those of you who are offended at this email, I would apologize but I really don't give a f---. Go f--- yourself.”
