Wal-Mart Table Can Cause Finger Amputation; And Other Recalls Of The Week

Wal-Mart is recalling 73,400 card table sets because they pose a risk of finger amputation.

Injuries have been reported from the chairs collapsing, a 4-Traders news release reported.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said chairs that come with the five-piece table set can collapse and cause users to fall or even lose a finger.

The Mainstay card table is black and comes with four folding chairs. The underside of the chairs have Made by "Dongguan Shin Din Metal & Plastics Product Co.," written on them.

The set was sold for $50 at the retail giant Wal-Mart between May 2013 and November 2013.

"10 reports of injuries from collapsing chairs, including one finger amputation, three fingertip amputations, sprained or fractured fingers, and one report of a sore back.

The Joovy's Zoom car seat adapter was also recalled this week because the clips can loosen possibly resulting in a fall. No injuries have been reported so far.

The affected models include "00945 for Graco, 00946 for Chicco, and 00947 for Peg Perego frames," the Washington Post reported.

The 2012 Source Eleven and Source Expert Disc bicycle with Supernova Switchable Dynamo Front Hubs has been recalled because screws in the front hub can loosen. No injuries have been reported.

The Cabrinha H2 Hydra series bindings for kiteboards with the product code KB4H2BDSL has been recalled because binding can detach from the base of the board causing a consumer to lose control.

Norwood Furniture science tables were recalled because the wooden legs can split.

"The affected products include item numbers NOR-PIH1027-SO for the table measuring 24 inches wide by 48 inches long by 30 inches high; NOR-PIH1028-SO for the table measuring 24 inches wide by 54 inches long by 30 inches high; and NOR-PIH1029-SO for the table that's 24 inches wide by 60 inches long by 30 inches high," the Washington Post reported. No injuries have been reported.
