Bill Gates Sends Surprise Secret Santa Gifts, Including Charitable Donation, To Reddit User

A young woman and Reddit user known only as Rachel, got the surprise of her life while participating in this year's online Secret Santa gift giving. It turns out the friendly sounding "Bill" who she was paired up with turns out to be one of the most famous Bills in the world - He was none other than Microsoft founder and Forbes' richest man in the world, Bill Gates.

"I thought Bill sounded like a friendly fellow," Rachel said in a follow up post via ABC News. "In fact, I had this image of this poor guy named Bill trying to navigate my wish list full of makeup, nail polish, glittery things to buy me. Quite frankly, I felt bad for this Bill,"

Rachel said that a package arrived at her door addressed to her. It contained a stuffed cow, a note saying a donation had been made in her name to Heifer International and a large National Geographic book about world travels.

"To Rachel,

My Secret Santa present to you is a cow!

Don't worry - you will not have to build a barn. This cow will be given to a family in need, in your name, through Heifer International. It will provide them with income and dairy products, and it will help them help themselves.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Bill Gates"

"Still not realizing who was gifting me, I quickly opened ... the gift, which was an amazing and beautiful travel book, 'Journeys of a Lifetime.' I went on and on in my likes and dislikes for my love of travel and seeing the world, and I cannot WAIT to read this. Not only that, but I love pictures and reading up on new places. This gift was perfect!" she wrote. "I quickly flipped through it, missing the inscription, message and signature from Bill on the first page and headed to the final part of my gift. Once again, To me, From Bill. I opened this and it's a man holding a sign. Oh ... wait,"

Rachel expressed her gratitude in the rest of her post and comically ended it by saying, "PS: Sorry for the Apple ipad on my wish list, that was really awkward."
