Every girl has experienced dry or damaged hair at some point in her life. Whether it's from years of coloring, daily use of blow dryers and straighteners, or just dry weather, it's an obnoxious thing to deal with. Store bought moisturizing products can be pricey, and the ones that are affordable typically don't get the job done as well as you'd like. But, little did you know, most of what you need to fix your hair is probably sitting right in your kitchen.

Hair masks are the best quick fix to cure dry and damaged hair. Typically, all you have to do is apply the mask to your hair for about 30 minutes to a few hours (depending on the mask) and then thoroughly rinse it out and you'll immediately notice how much smoother, shinier and softer your hair is. Honey and coconut oil are proven to be the best household and edible products to fix broken hair, and while mixing just the two together are enough to make a difference, adding in other products can improve the quality of your hair even more.

Here are three DIY honey and coconut oil masks that will fix your dry and damaged hair in under an hour! For best results, use hair masks like these once weekly.

1. Banana Coconut Mask.

This three-ingredient mask hydrates and strengthens hair in just 30 minutes. All you need is 1 cup of coconut oil, 1 tsp. of honey and 1 banana, according to Pop Sugar. The honey helps smooth out cuticles while the coconut oil moisturizes, leaves hair shiny and helps fix split ends. This mask also features banana, which is loaded with potassium to help strengthen hair. Once all the ingredients are blended together like a smoothie, you completely apply it to your dry hair, cover it with plastic wrap or a shower cap and leave it on for 2-3 hours or more. The best part about this mask is that the longer it's in, the better, so you can put it on before bed and go to sleep with it in so you can just rinse it out in the morning for ultimate results.

2. Egg Yolk Mask.

While this DIY mask still has honey and coconut oil, instead of banana, it features egg yolk. The recipe calls for 1 egg yolk, 2 tbsp. coconut oil and 1 tbsp. honey, according to Buzzfeed. If you have long hair, you might want to double the recipe. Egg yolks are great because they condition hair and leave strands shiny and strong. The process is very similar to the Banana Coconut mask, as you combine all the ingredients in a blender - only this time, it's suggested that you apply the mask to damp hair and only let it sit for about 30 minutes.

3. Vitamin E and Olive Oil Mask.

This mask still calls for honey and coconut oil, but the requirements are a little different. Instead of normal honey, it's suggested that you use raw honey, and instead of regular coconut oil, Youtube beauty vlogger BeautyKLove suggests using coconut milk oil. While she makes her own, it is okay to use the store bought kind straight from a can. The other two ingredients are olive oil, which nourishes hair, prevents breakage, makes hair manageable and helps hair grow stronger, and Vitamin E gel capsules, which promote hair growth, prevent hair loss and repair dry and damaged hair. The recipe calls for 1 cup of coconut milk oil, 3 tbsp. olive oil, 2 tbsp. honey and the gel from three Vitamin E capsules. She also suggests really massaging it into your scalp once it is fully applied to your hair because it is a hair growth mask as well, and then leaving it on for about an hour.
