Logitech PowerShell Controller/Battery For iPhone Gaming Now Available (VIDEO)

Playing mobile games on your iPhone can be a very difficult and frustrating experience. More often than not, the on-screen controls end up taking more space on the tiny 4-inch touchscreen than they're worth. Now Logitech is hoping to change the way people think about mobile gaming on the iPhone with its new PowerShell controller and external battery accessory.

According to TomsGuide, the 4.2-ounce PowerShell is among the first iPhone-focused gaming controllers to launch since the release of iOS 7 back in September. iOS 7 breaks away from previous versions of Apple's mobile software and comes with support for gaming controllers a feature that Android has supported for quite some time.

According to Logitech, there are currently 300 apps hosted on Apple's App Store that support the hardware for external controllers. Among these apps are games like "Lego Lord of the Rings," "Dead Trigger" and "Bastion."

The PowerShell costs $99.99 and houses your iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and fifth-generation iPod Touch comfortably and securely between a directional pad and a series of interactive game buttons including left and right bumpers, a pause button and action buttons. Logitech has included cutouts so you can adjust your volume and camera without having to remove the device from the controller too often.

A switch near the bottom of the PowerShell allows it to function as a charger so that you don't drain your phone's battery. The case itself comes with its own 1500mAh battery so that it doesn't need to draw power from your iPhone or iPod Touch to play games. This means you can have a hardcore gaming session on a long car or train ride and find your iPhone or iPod completely ready for a full day of use when you're done. If reviewers of the device have anything analog sticks.

The Logitech PowerShell is available for $100 from Best Buy and Apple's online store. Get one today and share your experience with the controller for your iPhone.
