As we continue to bask in the warm, sweet nostalgic glow of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Disney and Lucasfilm have already turned their attention to the next saga installment. Filming for Rian Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII" is underway and it sounds as if one character will be a bit different this time around. John Boyega told Vogue Magazine that he's going to need to beef up for this next movie.

"The Force Awakens" concludes with Boyega's Finn unconscious on a medical table following his duel with Adam Driver's Kylo Ren. Taking a lightsaber up the spine of his back was probably not the most enjoyable experience for the character. In talking with Vogue, Boyega revealed that he didn't need to do much in terms of working out for "The Force Awakens," but that might change for the new movie.

"My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more," Boyega said.

Finn was already doing okay for himself in the first movie. The guy was a Stormtrooper and then a solid Resistance fighter. Though his fight with TR-8R and Kylo Ren didn't go exactly as planned, Finn certainly wasn't a lost cause. But even we have to admit that the role didn't demand too much of him from a physicality standpoint. Based on his comments, "Episode VIII" may be a lot more challenging.

Beyond Finn's physical appearance, Boyega teased a different tone for "Episode VIII," reminiscent of the original "Star Wars" trilogy with the different vibes of "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back."

"It's great. Much darker, but we're very excited," he said.

"Empire," largely considered the best entry in the "Star Wars" franchise, is easily the darkest of the original trilogy. If "Episode VIII" can match the heights of that film than "Star Wars" fans are in for a treat.

"Star Wars: Episode VIII" will arrive on May 26, 2017.
