Twitter's Vine App Makes It Easier To Film Six-Second Video Clips With Two New Camera Functions

Vine, the six-second video sharing application owned by Twitter is making it easier for its more than 40 million users to film the perfect clip to share with their followers with the introduction of two new camera tools for the app.

According to CNET, the features, added Thursday for iPhone and Android include a function called "Sessions," which allows people to save drafts of Vines before publishing them. This means they can now save up to ten video clips to their account and add footage or tinker with the existing footage without rendering the app useless during filming.

The second features is called "Time Travel" which allows users to delete and reorganize clips while filming a single six-second timeline video.

"Vine was built for one purpose: to make it easy for people to capture life in motion and share it with the world," iOS director Ben Sheats wrote in a blog post. "That is the reason we built the Vine camera, and it's why we continue to improve upon and build new tools for your creations, nurturing the balance between power and simplicity that you've come to expect from us."

The Time Travel feature is very similar to a function that came stock with the introduction of Vine's biggest rival, Instagram Video a few months ago. Now the app has caught up with its competitor and seems keen on making itself feel much more approachable to the masses than the very specialized filming type that was on display beforehand.

CNET makes a note that the small community of Vine celebrities who have made a name for themselves by perfecting the six-second video filming format that the app has used for the past nine months might not take too kindly to the ability to edit and tinker with the apps filming functions. Perhaps this could lead to a paradigm shift where one type of video shooting becomes more popular than the one they have perfected.
