PlayStation 4 Release Date Games: New Commercial From Sony Boasts 24 Exclusive Titles and 180 In Development (WATCH)

Today, Sony released a new commercial for its upcoming next-generation console the PlayStation 4. The commercial tells potential customers a lot but its most interesting claims come from the upcoming gaming system's library of games.

The commercial seems adamant about nipping criticisms that the first year/launch lineup of titles for the PS4 are a bit light, especially in the wake of DriveClub's recently announced delay.

One of the biggest ways the ad seems to accomplish this is by revealing that 24 PlayStation 4 games have been announced as exclusive titles Sony. The biggest games on the list, according to IGN are "Killzone: shadow Fall," "Infamous: Second Son" and "The Order: 1886."

The ad also notes that 14 award winning studios are making PlayStation 4 game. This is likely a reference to its powerful first party developer roster, which includes the likes of Sucker Punch (Infamous), Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet), Guerrilla Games (Killzone), Sony Santa Monica (God of War) and many more.

Finally, the commercial reveals that the company has over 180 games that are currently in development for PlayStation 4, which Sony claims is more than any other next-generation console."

According to IGN, the last anyone heard from Sony on the subject of exclusives came back in June when the company stated that it had 30 games in development, 20 of which due out within a year of the PlayStation 4's launch and 12 of them coming from new franchises. That was a follow-up to the company's claim in February of 2013 that each of its studios were already working on a PlayStation 4.
