Vicki Gunvalson broke her silence after her ex-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, admitted that he "fabricated" documents from the California-based City of Hope National Medical Center that were meant to prove that he was telling the truth about his cancer diagnosis. The "Real Housewives of Orange County" star opened up to Extra's Mario Lopez in a new video interview about Ayers' confession.

Brooks presented E! News with an invoice detailing his alleged cancer treatment at City of Hope, E! News reported. A representative from City of Hope revealed that Ayers was never treated at the facility and presented the site with a copy of its official letterhead used for invoices. When placed side-by-side, the discrepancies between Brooks' fake documents and the real invoice from City of Hope are clearly noticeable.

"I'm completely shocked because I've seen the bills, I went to City of Hope," Gunvalson told Extra.

She explained that she had picked Ayers up from his first treatment at City of Hope sometime in October and she believed he was receiving treatment for cancer. She only started to question if Ayers was telling the truth when he switched doctors in the middle of his treatment.

"I'm guilty of loving him and believing him. Who hasn't believed somebody that they loved?" she said, choking back tears. "And why would you lie about cancer?"

Brooks' cancer diagnosis was a main storyline on season 10 of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Orange County." Gunvalson's friends and cast mates doubted Brooks was telling the truth, which caused a rift between the ladies of the "RHOC."

"I'm embarrassed. I want to tell the girls I'm sorry," Gunvalson said.

Gunvalson and Ayers broke up in August after four years together, as previously reported by HNGN. After his confession, she only had one word to say to her ex-boyfriend.

"Karma," Gunvalson told Extra. "I hate him. I hate him with everything in me, and I don't hate people."
