Warning: The following contains spoilers for AMC's "The Walking Dead."

Are you still reeling from this week's episode of "The Walking Dead?" You know, the one where they friggin' killed Glenn?!

I know I'm still upset. But as soon as Michael Traynor's Nicholas shot himself and Glenn fell into the horde of Walkers, the Internet exploded with theories and rumors about how his character was actually, somehow still alive. Though this would completely undermine the dramatic tension of "The Walking Dead," a lot of the theories made some sense.

Today comes another logical and practical theory reported by the Huffington Post as to why Glenn is still alive: Nicholas ran out of bullets before he shot himself.

Some believe that Nicholas, who was visibly shaken throughout the episode, actually hallucinated the entire scene in a fit of fear and panic. Beyond that, popular "Walking Dead" forums commenter JDAKA0131 explains that his gun didn't have any bullets left before the fateful blood splatter.

"If you watch the episode as Glenn is dropping his weapon you can hear two clicks from Nicholas' pistol indicating he is out of ammo and no reload occurred. If Nicholas is out of ammo how did he shoot himself???? Unless the show really got this wrong, the whole scene must be a hallucination by Nicholas."

Could fans be taking "The Walking Dead" a bit too literally and expecting a bit too much realism from a show that focuses on the zombie apocalypse? Absolutely. But Traynor didn't shoot the theory down when the Huffington Post asked him about it.

"That would be interesting," he said. "I mean, you know, with Tyreese's episode when he dies, there was this sort of strange fever dream, so it could all be a snapback. I think they're endlessly creative on the show, and they incorporate really complex devices to help tell an interesting story, so that's a possibility."

Showrunner Scott M. Gimple has already confirmed that "some version" of Glenn will be back this season and actor Steven Yeun has been spotted on set as recently as last week. Though those appearances could be flashbacks or dream sequences, they do lend some credence to this new theory.
