Teen and Friend Allegedly Beat Mother With Sword in Drug-Fueled Rampage, Planned to Eat Her Liver

Police apprehended two teenage boys on Tuesday after they attempted to kill the mother of one of the boys with a sword with the intentions of eating her liver, according to the Spokesman-Review.

Authorities from the Spokane County Sheriff's Department believe that the actions of the teenagers were fueled by drugs; the two admitted to taking "some blue pills" before the attack, the Spokesman-Review reports.

"The victim's 13-year-old son blamed his thought process on his drug usage and said he would never do anything like that sober," a statement from the sheriff's department read.

It is believed that the 13-year-old had gotten into an argument with his mother earlier in the evening and convinced the 14-year-old friend to beat her in the head with the sword. The two planned on stabbing her with the kitchen knives, eating her liver and fleeing town. When the woman woke up the two boys ran away, according to the Spokesman-Review.

Police were responding to an assault call around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday when they found the woman in her bed covered in blood. Next to her were two knives and a sword that had a bent handle. There were no signs of forced entry and police officials did not say who made the call to 911, according to the Columbian.

"It doesn't sound like she remembered the attack," Deputy Craig Chamberlain told the Columbian.

The boys also stole the Dodge Durango SUV belonging to the 14-year-old boy's father. When police arrived on the scene they found the still running Durango crashed into the side of a mobile home, according to USA Today.

While trying to flee from the police the boys broke into a nearby home and caused over $2,000 in damage by throwing a hammer at windows and walls within the home, according to the Spokesman-Review.

Neither of the teenagers has a criminal history. They were both charged with second-degree assault, stealing a motor vehicle, residential burglary and second-degree malicious mischief; the older boy was also charged with hit-and-run for crashing the car, according to UPI.
