The Apple iOS 7 free software update officially launches on Wednesday and almost everyone wants to have it installed on their iPhone, iPad immediately. Unfortunately, the excitement some have earlier turned sour as they got frustrated with multiple installation errors during the process.
Apple should have anticipated the overwhelming number of users who will be updating their software overnight but it seems that the preparation may not be enough as delays and failed attempts were expressed by some in Twitter. Mine took an hour to get iOS 7 running on my iPad.
Some of the most common concerns of frustrated users are the following: can't find the iOS 7 update on their device (mine was the same but it showed up after I plugged my iPad to my laptop and accessed iTunes), downloading got stuck, unable to activate, and had to redo the installation process.
Here are just some of the feedbacks of frustrated users because of this installation problem which they voiced out in Twitter.
"ios7 just won't install!",@AndrewPaiano.
"Literally had to delete my whole iphone for it to tell me there's an error downloading ios7, r u joking," @hannah_cosbie.
"The ios7 won't even show up on my phone. Anyone else with this problem?"@jennamacu
Apple is already working on resolving these installation issues and had it tagged as "high priority," according to Apple Insider.
The company didn't give any information on the number of affected users or when the issue will be resolved but it is most likely to be done before Friday just in time with the release of the new iPhones.
Installation errors are nothing new to Apple as it has happened in their previous software updates. However, this should be fixed as they can't afford to welcome new iPhone 5C and 5S users with problems when they begin activating their smartphones.
