RAK Airways Upgrades Its GDS Participation to a Full Content Agreement with Travelport

RAK Airways and Travelport enhance their partnership and upgraded the global distribution system(GDS) business to a full content agreement with Travelport offering customers worldwide to completely access the carrier's list of flights and fares and also benefit Galileo and Worldspan connected travel agents worldwide, reports Breaking Travel news.

RAK Airways, one of the flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates, and Travelport, business services company providing transaction solution to companies in the travel industry, upgraded their contract to a full content agreement offering comprehensive E-Ticketing option to Travelport connected agents in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and Nepal as RAK Airways extended its route to these destinations.

"This new agreement is a testament to Travelport's commitment to provide our customers with the richest possible airline content," said Will Owen Hughes, Senior Director Global Distribution Sales and Service for Travelport in the Middle East and Africa, according to Breaking Travel News report. "Working with flag carriers is a key part of our business strategy and this enhanced agreement demonstrates the trust that RAK Airways has in Travelport's global reach and ability to take their business to the next level."

"Under this new arrangement with Travelport, RAK Airways will benefit from significantly enhanced functionality and a reduction in unit cost," a spokesperson for RAK Airways commented. "This agreement was possible because of the impressive volumes of business brought to Travelport, since our cutover in September 2012."
