The Philadelphia 76ers are still relatively active late in free agency considering there isn't much left out there. One of the main reasons for this is that the Sixers had so many draft picks and they are now starting to sign some of them, but they also have been involved with Norris Cole of late, according to reports. One of the most recent draft picks the 76ers signed was Richaun Holmes who suffered a broken elbow during summer league play but will reportedly be ready for training camp, according to John Finger of CSN Philly.

Holmes reportedly signed a four-year deal with the 76ers earlier in the week with the first two years fully guaranteed at more than the minimum for a second round pick. The last two years are only partially guaranteed, but the fact that he got more than the minimum shows how high the 76ers are on him.

Despite breaking his elbow Holmes is expected to start shooting and working out within a week, and he is also expected to be fully ready for training camp. Holmes is likely to make the team based on his guaranteed money for the first two years, but the 76ers will likely go into camp with upwards of 17 players, so it will be a competitive atmosphere.

Holmes showed well during the summer league before breaking his elbow as he stuffed the stat sheet in several different areas. The 21-year-old played three seasons at Bowling Green before being selected 37th overall by Philadelphia. In his final season at Bowling Green Holmes averaged 14.7 points and 8 rebounds per game while shooting 56 percent from the field and 42 percent from beyond the three-point line.

Holmes has a very good chance to be a rotational player with the Sixers next season as a backup power forward that can come in and stretch the floor and provide some solid defense. Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel are the likely starters in the frontcourt for the 76ers, but behind them there is playing time to be had and Holmes' ability to shoot and rebound gives him a solid opportunity to earn minutes.
