A new study has found that people who have sex at least four times a week make more money and have a bigger bank balance.
Want to make more money and get rich? Then have sex frequently! At least that's what the result of a new study suggests. According to a report, released by the Institute for the Study of Labor in Germany, people who have sex at least four times a week earn higher wages than their colleagues that are less sexually active.
Nick Drydakis, a researcher at the Institute for the Study of Labor, looked at a year-long survey of 7,500 Greek households. The survey questioned the participants about how many times they had sex in a week, whether they were employed or not, how much wages they earned and how many hours they worked per week.
"Higher wages may encourage some to adopt more sexually active lives ... for instance, higher wages may increase purchase of gifts that are thanked for via sex," IB Times quoted the researchers as saying.
Researchers of the study also clarified that having frequent sex doesn't translate into a raise but indirectly helps in earning more money. The reason being this, researchers said is that sexually active people are happier, have higher self-esteem, better reasoning ability and are less likely to be depressed. Hence they perform better at work, facilitating a quick raise, according to a Huffington Post report.
Previous studies have confirmed that people who are depressed and have health problems tend to earn less because they are not able to perform to their full capabilities.
The study also stated the possibility of another correlation between bigger bank balances and an active sexual life. People who make more money are said to be more desirable in the dating world and do not find it difficult "hooking up" with people of the opposite gender, even if it is for a one-night stand.
Active sexual lives tend to benefit workers between the ages of 26 and 50 the most, giving them higher financial returns.
