Time is running out for the New England Patriots to find a way to bring star cornerback Darrelle Revis back to the fold.
As the hours tick slowly away, it seems increasingly likely that Revis will seek his latest NFL pay day at another pigskin destination.
Numerous teams have been rumored as having interest in Revis and you can now go ahead and add another one to the list: the Buffalo Bills.
"Well, this is interesting: Bills also expressing interest in free-agent CB Darrelle Revis, per sources. Rex does love his CBs..." tweeted ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Rex, of course, refers to new Bills head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan was the top dog for the New York Jets when they selected Revis with a first-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
Since that time he has turned himself into the premier coverage cornerback in the league - apologies to Richard Sherman.
Revis is the type of player who doesn't fill up the score sheet with stats mostly because his effect on the opposition is so great that they stay away from him entirely.
He finished last season with 47 tackles, two interceptions and 14 passes defensed.
After six seasons in New York with Ryan, Revis was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he spent one forgetful year before being cut.
He signed with New England as a free agent and helped the Patriots win Super Bowl XLIX.
As a free agent, he's reportedly seeking a deal with $40 million guaranteed, per a report from Dianna Marie Russini of NBC4 Washington. The Bills currently have approximately $19.3 million in cap space.
While the Bills would seem to be in good shape at cornerback already with Stephon Gilmore and Leodis McKelvin, there's no doubt that they could find a way to fit Revis into one of the two starting spots.
The question, as it always does, comes down to money.
