Actor Tom Hardy may be joining the “X-Men” film universe as the ultimate bad guy in the upcoming franchise installment.
Hardy is in talks to star in “X-Men: Apocalypse”, possibly as Apocalypse himself. For those unfamiliar with the “X-Men” comics, Apocalypse is one of the oldest mutants ever, The Wrap reports.
He possesses the abilities to changes his body parts into weapons, can heal quickly like Wolverine, has telekinesis and telepathy like Professor X, can adapt to any hostile environment and more. Apocalypse is the ultimate mutant and cannot be easily defeated.
Before fans get too excited, Hardy is also rumored to be in talks to take on a role in DC’s “Suicide Squad.” The Suicide Squad is a group of supervillains who’ve agreed to perform black-ops missions for the government in exchange for lesser sentences.
Hardy already played Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises”, so the actor is familiar with the DC film universe. Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Ryan Goseling are also rumored to be a part of the Warner Bros. list for “Suicide Squad” leading actors.
Speaking of superhero movies, Warner Bros. recently announced their full DC lineup for the next six years, but only revealed the year the films are expected to hit theaters.
