Philadelphia

Philadelphia boasts a slew of fun Labor Day weekend activities, and at the top of the list for many visitors and residents alike is Made In America, a large-scale music festival curated by Jay-Z and entering its third year. Running Saturday and Sunday on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the headliners of this year's Made In America include Kanye West and indie group The National. Kings Of Leon, Pharrell Williams, Spoon and Chromeo are also scheduled to perform.

The long weekend also gives you time to visit the Spruce Street Harbor Park, a pop-up park at the Penn's Landing Marina on Columbus Boulevard and Spruce Street. The pop-up park features "a boardwalk, urban beach, floating barges, mist walk, lily pad gardens and more," according to the Delaware River Waterfront website. VisitPhilly.com, the city's official tourism website, also recommends hitting the pop-up park this weekend, noting that the "gorgeous" spot "promises guests a place for alfresco drinking, hammock lounging, floating restaurant-dining, game playing and much more." Spruce Street Harbor Park recently announced that it has extended its open season through Sept. 28.
