The new DC role Dwayne Johnson has continuously teased fans about may not be connected to the “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” production.

Johnson teased details about his role during an interview with TotalFilm. Unfortunately, it isn’t Green Lantern as some fans hoped, but from the description many believe it’s Shazam.

“There’s a character out there that we’re going to announce soon” Johnson said. “He has the power of Superman. And it’s not the Green Lantern by the way. Believe me – Jon Stewart – he is a character who I wanted to play, but there was already a version of Green Lantern, and so now we’ve gone in a slightly different direction. But this character has the power of Superman. He can throw down…Just say the word. That’s all I’m going to say.”

IGN reports the DC character Billy Batson just has to utter the words “Shazam” to turn into the superhero. Johnson could be hinting he will be taking on the movie role, which Warner Bros. is expected to announce during San Diego Comic Con International.

Warner Bros. will reportedly announce six new DC film during the convention, according to Nikki Finke. The Warner Bros. film lineup includes:

May 2016 - Batman v Superman
July 2016 - Shazam
Xmas 2016 - Sandman
May 2017 - Justice League
July 2017 - Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 - Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 - Man Of Steel 2

Nikkie Finke reports inside sources claim there will be multiple cameos in the “Batman vs. Superman” production, including Aquaman and Green Lantern.

"The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced," the source said. "And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow.”
