Selena Gomez is spreading positivity with her new tattoo. The 21-year-old singer and actress got inked by celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang McCurdy, who inscribed "love yourself first" in Arabic on Gomez's back below her shoulder.

McCurdy posted a photo of the fresh ink to his Instagram account on Wednesday, July 16.

"Little gift for my friend @SelenaGomez," he wrote, posting a picture of the "Slow Down" singer looking over her shoulder at her new ink.

Gomez also uploaded the same photo.

"Art by @bangbangnyc - from my first to my last. It's always this fool," she captioned the picture.

McCurdy told E! News that the former Disney star got the tattoo about a month ago and said that "she has been wanting this one for a while."

"Selena already had it written out how she wanted," McCurdy told E!. "The tattoo is about 4 inches, and didn't take too long, probably about 30-45 minutes. The longest part is laying it out. We played with a bit laying it out, until we found the perfect spot."

He said Gomez "loved" the tatto and "flipped out" when she saw it.

"When we did that one, she was talking about another one," McCurdy said. "But we haven't talked plans just yet. There are always plans to do another one."

This tattoo makes about six or seven for the "Come & Get It" singer. Among her other inks are a music note on her wrist, a Roman Numeral on the back of her neck and "God Who Strengthens Me" written down her right hip.

McCurdy has also did tattoos for celebrities like Rita Ora, Cara Delevigne, Rihanna and Gomez's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber
