Twitter's X rebranding is frustrating many users. Because of this, they are now leaving 1-star negative reviews on the Apple App Store.
This was revealed by a new analysis conducted by Sensor Tower; a market intelligence firm in San Francisco, California.
Twitter's X Rebranding Leads to Downrating
According to Tech Crunch's latest report, the X rebranding of Elon Musk for Twitter disappointed many users.
Sensor Firm discovered that consumers are venting out their frustrations by downrating the social media platform (now called X).
The company's analysis revealed that 78% of U.S.-based users are leaving negative reviews since July 24, which is the date that the billionaire officially renamed the application.
Their 1-star negative reviews are direct responses to the Twitter rebranding. Most of them shared their disappointments regarding the new logo and name of the social media app.
One of them said that the socmed company should bring back the "BIRD." Meanwhile, others sarcastically asked what is the meaning of "X."
Others said that Twitter was once a great app, but now it's gone for bad. One of them even called the new version of the app "dumpster fire."
Why Twitter Users Don't Like the X Branding
BBC News reported that there are numerous reasons why users are not happy with Twitter's X rebranding.
One of these is that it shows Musk's approach as the owner of the platform is an extended act of cultural vandalism, as explained by Casey Newton, a tech journalist.
Aside from this, Flock Freight Chief Revenue Officer Orlando Baeza said that another reason is that the new X branding gives a dark and member-only vibes to the platform.
This is quite different compared to when Twitter's original version, which offers a warm and welcoming feeling.
"This is a dramatic and unexpected turn," explained Baeza.
Yes, many users across the globe may be frustrated, disappointed, and angry about Twitter's X branding, but experts said that this issue will not last for long.
Fifth Tribe CEO Kuram Zaman explained that most backlashes are just temporary, claiming that the opposition to change will likely dissipate over time.
Since Elon Musk is a very unpredictable guy, there's a chance that he will make another surprising change in his social media platform.
