Oklahoma City Thunder forward Mitch McGary will miss the season opener of NBA 2016-17 after being slapped with another suspension for violating the league's drug policy.

In a statement, the NBA announced another 10-game suspension against McGary adding to his standing five-game suspension handed in July.

"The NBA announced today that Mitch McGary of the Oklahoma City Thunder has been suspended without pay for a minimum of ten games for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program," the NBA stated on a statement.

"His ten-game suspension will begin when he has completed serving his five-game suspension under the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program, which was announced on July 8, 2016," it said.

With the development, McGary might not even see the final stretch of his three-year contract with the Thunder after struggling with drug-related issues.

This incident issue is not the first in McGary's career. He was suspended in his third year at University of Michigan in 2014 after failing drug test.

McGary managed to escape the full repercussions of the scandal after being drafted in the NBA that same year, according to Yahoo! Sports.
