According to CDCP data, American population has poor eating habits and most of these people don't even know how eating poorly is contributing to obesity at a later stage. This is because of the uncontrollable carbs that people consume in the name of subsidized commodities.
JAMA Internal Medicine notes that consuming high quantities of subsidized supplies leads to cardiometabolic risk in American adults. People who are eating from the sponsored commodities have a higher tendency to become obese, increased blood sugar levels and unusual cholesterol.
Karen R. Siegel, Ph.D., of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, worked with other researchers in this study to get to the bottom of this issue.
"Siegel's group used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2001 to 2006 to calculate an individual-level "subsidy score" for consumption of subsidized food commodities as a percentage of total calorie intake. The authors used body mass index (BMI), ratio of waist circumference to height, circulating high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (a marker of inflammation), blood pressure, non-high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol level, and glycated hemoglobin to characterize cardiometabolic risk."
Study results indicated that the ones who had the highest subsidy score also had a 37% increased risk of being chunky. It is important to know that obesity is not just a problem for your physical outlook but also for the body's overall health. There are many psychological and emotional problems that are linked to obesity. As a disease, obesity has existed in the society for many years and now is the right time to start and stand for it.
