‘The X-Files’ Premiere To Screen At New York Comic Con

Mulder and Scully return to the alien beat in "The X-Files" revival starting in January, but some fans will get to screen the premiere episode next month at New York Comic Con.

Fox announced on Friday that it would screen the first episode, titled "My Struggle," of the event series during the sold-out panel on Oct. 10 at the Javits Center in Manhattan. Creator Chris Carter and star David Duchovny will also take part in a Q&A session with fans after the advance screening.

"The X-Files" will reboot for six episodes set to premiere on Jan. 24, 2016. Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their iconic roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, and their first case back will involve a possible alien abductee.

The worldwide debut of the premiere will take place a few days before the U.S. screening on Oct. 6 at MIPCOM, the television conference and market in Cannes, France. Carter will unveil the episode in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais de Festivals.

Carter wrote and directed three of the six new episodes, with the remaining episodes written and directed by original series veterans Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong. The revival will feature guest stars Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani and William B. Davis, who will reprise his role as "Cigarette Smoking Man."

"The X-Files" will return with a special two-night event, starting on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. EDT on Fox.
