The release of the Rolling Stones song “Satisfaction” is HNGN’s Throwback Thursday selection as the classic track celebrates the 50th anniversary of it Aug. 20, 1965 milestone, according to Stones in Real-Time.

It is reported that the iconic band’s guitarist Keith Richards came up with the idea for the record after waking up from a snooze with a tape recorder at his side, according to CBS News. The device had stopped much to Richards' dismay, but he could hear a sound of hope through the technology’s playback.

"I went to bed, I wake up and notice that the tape has run to the end," the Richards told CBS News about the words “I can’t get no satisfaction,” which he can be heard grumbling while getting some shut-eye. "So I run it back, push play, and it's this weird, strangled voice... and then there was this silence for a while, and then this heavy snoring went through the rest of the tape."

Legendary singer Mick Jagger then ran the tape back and finished the rest of its vocals.
