Netflix is finally rolling out personal profiles for its users in an effort to provide each individual person with better recommendations and use of the popular video streaming service. The Profiles feature allows up to five people on a single account to have a separate sign in function in order to receive Facebook recommendations and a personalized Instant Queue.

Families who subscribe to the service, which offers unlimited movie and television streaming for $7.99 a month as well as a separate disc rental service for $7.99 as well, can now take equal advantage of Netflix's recommendation service. Netflix typically offers a queue of movies and shows based on the genre the viewer typically watches as well as recommendations form what is popular on Facebook. However, the recommendations are obviously skewed by a family with a variety of tastes in movies and television.

Now, when a member of a subscription family logs in, he or she will see an icon for each Profile. After selecting theirs, they get "an experience for that individual based on (their) viewing history, favorites and favorite genres," said Neil Hunt, the company's chief product officer.

Each member of the household will be given social suggestions based on what Facebook friends have watched recently. Netflix added Facebook connections to the service back in March but multiple users on one account made that service a bit hard to take advantage of as a child's feed may have ended up in his parents queue.

The services is already available on the Netflix website, Apple TV, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, iPad, iPhone and most smart TVs, according to USA Today. Hunt says the feature will be coming to Nintendo's Wii U sometime soon.

Netflix has been trying to make its subscription service more enticing to users as it dumps a significant amount of time, money and energy into creating original series like "Hemlock Grove," "Orange is the New Black" and "House of Cards."
