Taylor Swift was the victim of an online prank earlier in the week. According to MSN Entertainment, the "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer teamed up with radio station Kiss 108 FM to hold a contest for a die-hard "Swiftie" to meet the country star.

However, the contest has been cancelled after it was rigged for a 39-year-old man identified as Charles Z to win. Hundreds of people registered for the contest bit only one person would be granted the meet-and-greet.

Charles was suggested by a user who posted the comment: "My creepy 39-year-old friend named Charles would like to crush all those girls' dreams (and then sniff Taylor Swift's hair cos he's into that) by winning this instead... Help him crush the dreams of these girls and give him a chance to make a complete a-of himself by blatantly just sniffing her hair with the cameras rolling."

Newsmax reports that Charles however, toned down his love for the singer on the actual contest page.

"I'm a 39-year-old man and I love Taylor so much and don't care that both adults and children mock me for it," he wrote.

According to reports user of Reddit.com and 4chan.org teamed up to sway the voting in favor of the older man. After he won and the radio station caught on to what had happened, the contest was immediately cancelled.

"Disappointingly, we have determined that the integrity of the Taylor Swift's Biggest Fan contest has been compromised. In accordance with our contest rules, effective immediately, the contest has been terminated. We apologize to all our loyal listeners who have participated," reads the statement now posted on the contest page.

Ironically, this isn't the first time Swift has been a part of an online prank. Back in August 2012, a contest offered a school with the most Facebook votes a contest by the singer but it was rigged so a deaf school won. Swift declined performing at the school but instead awarded them with $50,000.
